RISD Summer T-Shirt Design

This is a design I made for RISD summer students to screenprint on sweatshirts.  It's a play off the phrase "Summertime and the livin' is easy."    
                   

Overall I am satisfied with it, but after it was completed and screened I realized the kerning (adjusting the spacing between characters in a font) of the text could have been more uniform.  

I have learned that is important is to look back at completed work and reflect what could have been done better.

Écorché Pelvis to Rib Cage and 3D Kinetic Anatomy Week 4

For our homework on our écorchés this week we needed to make the muscles from the pelvis to the ribcage.

Écorché Pelvis and Thigh

My homework of my écorché this week was the pelvis and thigh muscles.

3D Kinetic Anatomy Week 2

In our second week of class we started modeling from a figure.  Here is my progress day one.

For homework in this class we have to make an écorché, which is a figure that is flayed.  Our version is going to be half skeleton half muscle.  This week we have to do the muscles in the thigh.

Summer Class

I'm taking a class called 3D kinetic anatomy.  It's a figurative sculture class focusing on anatomy.
This week we started creating an armature as well as attaching the primary blocks of clay.  I'm already starting to notice and think of bodies in a three-dimensional manner.

The beginning of the armature

Added the head and wrapped thinner wire around for stability and so the clay can hold better.

Added the base, pelvis and the rip cage

For my homework I need to attach the skull and make another armature (but with no clay).

Internship

I have an internship with Rip Van Wafels doing animation.  Rip Van Wafels is a Dutch American cookie company making traditional stroopwafels.  They are super delicious!!  While I can't show animations, I want to at least show my homemade animation set up.  Enjoy!

Final Independent Study Project in Order

As promised here is the final of my independent study project in the correct order.
This photo was taken at my program's final art show in Rome.  I printed the color keys and placed them next to my original play, which was the basis for this project.
